4th Quarter Brings 3 New Singles and a Platinum Record for Jayward Artist Group
2020 was a lemon but Jayward Artist Group has been making lemonade with a mixture of skillful song writing, strong visuals, accomplished artistry and great partnerships with The Orchard (distribution) and Sony Music Canada (radio promotion).
The year kicked off with a headline tour for Tebey with Matt Lang as opener in many of the markets, culminating in an exciting sold out night at Montreal’s Corona Theatre.
Shortly thereafter a trip to Europe for the C2C festival featured Matt Lang in his first 4 shows in Germany, a deal with UTA Agency internationally (ex-North America) and then sadly a cancelled set of dates in the UK due to COVID-19.
This set back did not curtail Lang's growth in 2020 which included a top 5 radio chart /#1 iTunes country song for his dancefloor drawing single 'Getcha'; a SOCAN Award, a GALA Country Award for Live Show of the Year (English), an ADISQ Award nomination for Live Show of the Year and a CCMA Nomination for Rising Star. In June, Lang released his first album with Jayward Artist Group More which topped both the iTunes all genre and country album charts. It was the #1 selling album in Quebec (Nielsen) and the #3 selling album in Canada the week of release.
This week we celebrate the release of Lang’s new single “Only a Woman” to radio and Digital Service Providers’s with the new “Piano Version”. The music video for “Only a Woman” directed by Sean Cartwright is available worldwide on November 13, after its exclusive premiere with Entertainment Tonight Canada. Watch the video here.
Platinum selling artist Tebey is on a roll in 2020, following his headline tour across Canada, he also returned to Europe for his second time with 5 shows in Germany through his international booking agent ITB and Semmel Concerts. His UK shows fell victim to the pandemic and since then he has been focusing on digital music and radio with a very strong showing. The follow up to his epic ballad “The Good Ones” featuring pop sensation Marie Mai, which culminated in a top 10 radio single, a CCMA nominated video (director Raphael Mazzucco) and a performance on the 2020 CCMA broadcast, Tebey released his uptempo radio hit “Happened On A Saturday Night”. This song achieved solid airplay in the UK via Country Hits UK and Chris Country radio and is still climbing the country radio chart in Canada.
Coming off two CCMA nominations this September – Male Artist of the Year and Fans’ Choice Artist of the Year - Tebey is coming in hot this winter with a PLATINUM certification for his 10M+ streamed smash “Denim on Denim” and a new song and video out to DSP’s on November 20th “Shotgun Rider”. Tebey’s 5th album “The Good Ones” is set for release on January 22, 2021.
On the pop side of Jayward Artist Group, RadioClub is about to release their 3rd single internationally. RadioClub is the Pop duo comprised of Shawn Desman and Tebey, both successful recording artists, writers and producers respectively; they realized the musical chemistry is off the charts when they come together for this powerful and unique project.
Their new single ‘Starlight’ Featuring Canadian vocalist Jesse Gold will be out December 4th to DSPs – via Jayward in Canada and with partners at LINC Music in Sweden (both distributed by The Orchard). “Starlight” is a smooth departure from their first two singles - the top 40 charting CHR single and EDM rendition of ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ (a cover of the Rick Astley 1989 smash) & the house/dance ‘Love Go When It’s Gone’. Country/Roots singer/songwriter JJ Shiplett has been producing and releasing incredible music while hunkering down in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta this year. Nominated for CCMA Roots Artist of the Year, JJ released the long awaited EP “Fingers Crossed” in March 2020 to the great relief and enjoyment of his fans (via his imprint Red Buffalo Records) and five months later he put “Crossed Fingers” out into the universe – a brilliantly stripped down version of “Fingers Crossed” featuring new song “Bluejay Highway”.
PunkWithAnF released their debut song “Peach Mango Pie” a tasty and unique pop/funk/hiphop jam that is elevated by their humorous, weed-culture flavoured videos that are worth looking for.
